How to Send a Repeating Notification

Repeating notifications let you send the same notification automatically on a schedule — every week, every month, and so on — instead of creating a new scheduled send each time. They're great for recurring reminders like a Monday lunch sign-up or a tuition reminder on the 1st of the month.

📍 Where to Find This

From the Administrative Superpowers screen: Communication → Send Notification → Delivery time → Repeat

📝 Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Start Your Notification

Fill in your message title, content, recipients, and reply options as usual. See Sending a Push Notification for details on each.

Step 2: Choose Repeat

  • Scroll down to Delivery time.
  • Select Repeat (next to Send Now and Schedule).

💡 Text messages and phone calls can't repeat. Repeating notifications are delivered by push notification, email, and the message inbox only. If you choose Repeat, the text and call options are turned off for that send — your selections come back if you switch to Send Now or Schedule. If you need a text or call, use Send Now or Schedule instead.

Step 3: Set the Start

  • Immediately — the first send goes out within a minute.
  • Specific Date — pick the date and time for the first send.

Step 4: Set How Often It Repeats

  • Under Repeat every, enter a number and choose Day, Week, Month, or Year (e.g. every 1 week, or every 2 weeks).
  • For monthly or yearly repeats that start near the end of a month (e.g. the 31st), sends land on the last day of shorter months instead of skipping them (Jan 31 → Feb 28 → Mar 31).
  • Need two different days each week, like Monday and Thursday? Set up two separate weekly repeating notifications.

Step 5: Set How Many Sends

  • Next to Ends after, click Change to choose anywhere from 2 to 52 sends.
  • Each option shows the date of the last send, so you can see exactly when the series will end before you pick.

Step 6: Review and Schedule

  • Check the yellow summary box, e.g. "Repeating notification: 10 sends, every week — First send Oct 5, 2026 at 9:00 AM · Last send Dec 7, 2026."
  • Click Schedule N Sends to confirm.

🔁 Managing a Repeating Notification

Go to Administrative Superpowers → Communication → Scheduled Notifications & Banners

A repeating notification shows as a single card with a repeat icon, the next send date, and how many sends are left (e.g. "Repeats every week · 10 sends remaining · last on Dec 7, 2026").

Editing

Click Edit on the card, then choose:

  • Edit All — changes every remaining send in the series.
  • Edit Next — changes only the very next send. That send is separated from the series, and the rest continue on the original schedule.

Once only one send is left in a series, it's edited like a regular one-time scheduled notification.

Deleting

Click the trash icon on the card to delete the series. This removes all remaining sends, not just the next one.

💡 Helpful Tips

  • Write the message so it still makes sense every time it goes out — avoid specific dates in the text unless they apply to every send.
  • Only need to fix one upcoming send (e.g. a holiday week)? Use Edit Next so the rest of the series stays the same.
  • Want the reminder to keep going after the series ends? Create a new repeating notification when the last send goes out.
