Sending a Push Notification

Push notifications are a fast way to share important updates with your school community. From the admin side of the app, you can send a message immediately or schedule it for later, choose who receives it, and decide how people can respond.

Where to Find This

From the Administrative Superpowers screen:

Communication โ†’ Send Notification

Step 2: Choose Recipients

By default, your message will be sent to everyone.

If youโ€™d like to narrow the audience, you can:

  • Limit to specific account types (for example: parents, staff, visitors)
  • Limit to specific groups (for example: classrooms, teams, or custom groups)
  • Limit by invitation status: (All current & invited members, Only current members)
  • All current & invited members

Sends the message to everyone who has access to the app, including people who have been invited but havenโ€™t joined yet.

  • Only current members (who joined the app)

Sends the message only to members who have already joined and are actively using the app.

  • Only invited members (who havenโ€™t yet joined)

Useful for reminders or nudges to encourage invited users to join the app.

Step 3: Set Reply Options

  • No replies allowed (default)

Recipients will receive the message but wonโ€™t be able to respond.

  • Allow recipients to reply in the app

Replies will open a one-on-one chat with you. This is helpful if youโ€™re asking for feedback or expect questions.

Step 4: Select Delivery Method

You can choose one or more delivery methods. Available options may vary by school setup:

  • Message inbox (in the app)
  • Push notification
  • Email
  • Text message (may vary)
  • Phone call (may vary)
  • Transparent Classroom Announcement (may vary)

Step 5: Choose Delivery Time

  • Send immediately (default)
  • Schedule for later

Choose a specific date and time for the message to be sent.

Helpful Tips

  • Keep titles short and clear so theyโ€™re easy to read on a phone.
  • Use links instead of long messages when sharing forms or documents.
  • If replies are enabled, be prepared for one-on-one follow-up messages.
