Adding Images and PDFs to Notifications

When sending a notification, you can attach images or a PDF so recipients see more than just text — a flyer, a photo from an event, a signed form, or a newsletter — right alongside your message.

📝 Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open the Attachments Options

From the Send Notification screen, click Add a Link, Image, or PDF to expand the Link field and the Attachments card.

Step 2: Add Images

Click Add Image.
On the mobile app, choose Take Photo or Upload from your library
On the web, images upload directly from your computer.
You can add up to 10 images and select multiple photos at once. Uploaded images appear as thumbnails — tap the X on a thumbnail to remove it.

Step 3: Add a PDF

Click the PDF attachment option to upload a file.
PDF attachments can currently only be added from a computer — the mobile app will prompt you to use a computer instead.
Max file size: 10MB.
Once uploaded, the PDF appears as "Attachment: [file name]." Click the X next to it to remove it.

Step 4: Send as Usual

Continue through the rest of the Send Notification flow (recipients, reply options, delivery method, delivery time) as normal. If you schedule the notification instead of sending immediately, your attachments are saved with it and go out automatically at the scheduled time.

Push notification banner — stays text-only; recipients need to open the message to see attachments
Email — not shown yet
Text message / Phone call — not supported, stays text-only
Transparent Classroom Announcement — not supported, stays text-only

Opening a PDF: On iPhone/iPad, tapping "Open PDF" opens it right in the app. On Android, it opens using your device's PDF viewer or browser, outside the app.

💡 Helpful Tips

Keep PDFs under 10MB — larger files won't upload.
Need to attach a PDF but you're on your phone? Switch to a computer to compose the notification, or share the PDF as a link instead.
Attachments are optional — you can still send a notification with just a title and message, no attachments needed.
