How to Accept Onespot Form Submissions from Your School Website (Advanced)
If your school website already has a form, like "Contact Us," "Schedule a Tour," or "Event Sign-Up," you can connect it to a Onespot Form. Each time someone submits the form on your website, their answers are saved in Onespot just like any other form response. You don't need a Google Form or Apps Script.
โ Before You Start
- You need to be an admin.
- You need a Onespot Form with the questions you want your website form to collect. The website form can only fill in questions that exist on this Onespot Form.

๐ ๏ธ How to Turn On Website Submissions
- Tap the Lightning Bolt to open Administrative Superpowers, then go to All Screens & Forms and open your form.
- In the form's settings, tap Advanced, then scroll down to External Websites.
- Check Accept submissions from external websites, then save.
Creating a brand-new form?
Save it first. The website code appears once the form exists.

๐ How to Copy the Code for Your Website
After saving, a gray box appears with ready-made HTML and two buttons.
- Copy HTML copies the form code. Paste it into an Embed or Custom HTML block on your website. The code comes unstyled, so you or your web manager can style it to match your site.
- Copy Instructions for Your Web Manager copies plain-text instructions you can send to whoever manages your website. You can also paste them into an AI coding assistant. They explain where the form sends responses, what each field is, and what happens after someone submits.
Each button briefly changes to "Copied!" so you know it worked.
๐งช How to Test Your Website Form
- Fill out and submit the form on your website.
- In Onespot, open Form Responses under Administrative Superpowers.
- Look for a response from a website visitor. Website submissions show this name because there's no Onespot account attached to them.

โ Good to Know
- Changed your form's questions? Copy the HTML again.
- Question types. Text, number, date, time, and dropdown questions work. Multiple-choice list questions can't be answered from a website, so they're left out of the code.
- Required questions still apply. If a visitor leaves one blank, they see a message naming the question.
- Spam protection is built in. The code includes a hidden field that only bots fill in, and those submissions are quietly discarded. Don't remove this field or make it visible.
- To turn it off, uncheck Accept submissions from external websites. Your website form will stop sending responses to Onespot.
๐ง Troubleshooting: Why Isn't My Website Form Working?
- Visitors see "This form isn't accepting submissions." The setting is turned off in Onespot, or the form address in the code was changed. Turn the setting back on, or copy the HTML again.
- Visitors see "Please answer: โฆ" A required question was left blank.
- Visitors see "Too many submissions recently." The form hit its hourly limit. Wait a bit and try again.
- Submissions aren't showing up in Form Responses. Check that the hidden spam field isn't visible on your website. If a real visitor fills it in, the submission is discarded.
