Suggested school solution: Offset your fees

To help schools manage payment processing costs, Onespot allows schools to offset fees by adding a service charge. Options include:

• Charge a 4% service fee on credit card payments
• Offer a 2–3% discount for ACH payments to encourage lower-cost methods
• Or raise tuition by ~4% across the board if you prefer not to show itemized fees

Note: Parents will only see the school’s service fee or discount on their invoice. They will not see Stripe or Onespot fees directly.

💡Offsetting Credit Card Fees

To help schools retain their full payment amount, we recommend:

✅ Add a 4% Service Fee

• Covers transaction costs for credit card payments.
• Automatically added to the invoice total.
• Shown as a separate line item: "Service Fee"

💡Offsetting Direct Debit Fees

✅ Offer a 3% ACH Discount

• Incentivizes parents to pay via ACH.
• Cheaper for schools and more predictable.
• Shown as: "ACH Discount" on the invoice.
