Sharing a PDF as a Weblink in Your Onespot App
Instead of uploading PDFs directly (which can cause Android phones to download the file each time), you can convert your PDF into a Google Drive link and post that link in your Onespot app. This way, parents can open it instantly in their browser.
Method: Converting a PDF to a Google Drive Link
Step 1: Upload Your PDF to Your School’s Google Drive (Onespot Provided)
Go to your school’s Google Drive using the Onespot-provided account.
Either:
- Click the + New button (top-left), select File upload, and choose your PDF, or
- Simply drag and drop the PDF file from your computer into your Google Drive window.
- The file will appear in your Drive once uploaded.

Step 2: Make the PDF Shareable
- In your school’s Google Drive, right-click on your PDF file.
- From the menu, click Share.
- In the pop-up window, under General access, change it from Restricted to Anyone with the link.
- Make sure the role is set to Viewer (so parents can only view, not edit).
- Click Copy link, then click Done.

Step 3: Post the Link in the Onespot App
- Go to your school's Onespot App.
- From the Home screen, click New Screen — or click the ⚡ Lightning Bolt and select New Screen.
- Choose Link Web Page.
- Enter a Title (e.g., “School Handbook” or “Event Schedule”).
- Paste the Google Drive link into the Link field.
- (Optional) Under Permissions, choose who can see the screen (all users or specific account types).
- Click Save to publish the screen.

Note: Step 3 shows how to add your PDF link as a new screen, but that’s not the only way. You can also add it as a web button by creating a custom screen to keep multiple documents on one page.
