Customize App Screen For Users

Setting the default home screen arrangement is a powerful way to control what users see when they first join your app. Whether you want all members to start with the same layout — or create different experiences for parents, staff, or students — this feature gives you full control.

🔧 What This Feature Does

  • Sets a default home screen layout for new users.

    Lets you choose between:

    • One default for all users, or
    • Separate defaults for each account type (Parent, Staff, Student, etc.).
  • Ensures new members have an organized, purposeful app experience from day one.

👣 Step-by-Step: Set Up Default Home Screen Arrangement

1. Open the Home Screen Arrangement Settings

  • Click the ⚡ Lightning Bolt icon in the top-right of your app.
  • Scroll down and click Home Screen Arrangement.

2. Choose a Default Setup Option

You’ll see two options:

✅ Option 1: Use my personal home screen arrangement as the default for all new members

  • This uses your personal current layout as the default for new users.
  • To update it: simply rearrange your own home screen first, then save.

🔁 Option 2: Use a separate default home screen arrangement for each account type

  • You’ll be able to set a unique layout for:
    • Parents (e.g., Tuition, Events, Contact)
    • Staff (e.g., Feedback Forms, Staff Chat, Internal Docs)
    • Students (e.g., Assignments, Schedules)

💡 This helps keep each user’s experience focused and relevant.

3. Rearrange & Save

  • Drag and drop portals into the order you want.
  • You can hide or show items as needed.
  • Click Save to apply the layout.

✅ Why Use This Feature?

Customizing the default home screen helps:

  • Make your app feel tailored to each user group.
  • Ensure important info is front and center.
  • Simplify onboarding for new families and staff.
  • Improve user engagement from day one.
