How to Send a Text Blast to Parents/Staff to Download the App

Sending a quick bulk text is one of the most effective ways to get parents onboarded to your Onespot app. This guide walks you through the steps, from writing the message to sending it confidently. 📱

👣 Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Click the ⚡ Lightning Bolt Icon

From your Onespot admin dashboard, click the Lightning Bolt icon in the top-right corner.

Scroll down and select Texting & Calling.

2. Craft Your Message

Keep your message short and clear. Here's a sample you can copy and customize:

Sample Text:

Hi from [School Name]! Download the [School Name] app to get updates, billing, messages & more. Here's the link to join. Please sign in with Transparent Classroom. yourschoolname.app

3. Test Your Message First

Before sending it to all families:

1. Send the message to yourself first to double-check the formatting and length.
2. Make sure all links work properly.

4. Copy parent phone numbers

• Log in to Transparent Classroom
• Go to the Directory
• Choose Parents/Staff (filter on the right-hand side)
• Click Download — this will generate a CSV file with each child’s name and the contact number of their parent(s)
• Open the file, copy the phone numbers, and paste them into the Onespot app under Text & Calls

5. Send to parents/staff 💬

Once sent, each parent/staff will receive a personalized text with your app download link.
